My Story

Sports and exercise have always played a vital role in my life influencing many decisions that have paved the way to my career in sport and fitness. Growing up I played a variety of sports that peaked an interest in kinesiology, specifically sports medicine. This led to internships in nutrition and athletic training whilst concurrently playing and coaching sports in high school. These experiences led to my undergraduate studies in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of San Francisco.

Whilst in college, I played and coached rugby, competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, interned for the Sports Medicine Department at USF, and interned with City College of San Francisco Sports Performance Department. In addition, I also worked and continue to work for the Recreational Sports Department at USF, which was my initial introduction to the fitness industry via personal training and group exercise.

My education, internships, and extracurriculars set the foundation for my passion for coaching and training. Today, I look forward to continuing this journey with P4L.

My Philosophy

Over the years I have accumulated so many injuries playing rugby and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that have turned my world upside down. Exercise saved me both mentally and physically over and over again. Further, these injuries also gave me a deeper understanding of the body and really emphasized the importance of staying functional. I know that I wouldn’t be standing and doing everything I am doing without the proper rehabilitation and training that followed these injuries. I want to be able to pass on what I have learned through education and personal experiences to my athletes.

I firmly believe that fitness is absolutely essential to anyone’s overall well being both mentally and physically. I also think being aware of your body, setting goals and moving correctly and efficiently are important to achieving a lifelong positive relationship with exercise and or fitness. I want to be able to educate my athletes about their bodies, and motivate them to love moving to achieve overall health and fitness.
