I learned from a young age how important it is to be active and healthy throughout life to be able live life to its fullest even as we get older. I was shy growing up but being active and participating in sport gave me confidence in myself. Having played badminton back home in Ireland at a high level in my county and province I really got a lot out of it and can definitely say some of my most fulfilling and proudest moments came through exercising and playing sport. I sometimes felt this was lacking for others and even some of my friends as I got older and began to take notice of more things around me.
As I spent more time in the gym I saw how weight training was one of the most effective ways for people to change their physique and eventually lead to me doing Exercise and Health Studies in college in Ireland. Now that I have expanded my knowledge and furthered my passion for health and fitness I want to share this with others and help them experience the same benefits I have mentally and physically. I personally believe strength training is one of the best forms of exercise and it is a very big part of training in Ireland. Since moving to SF I now incorporate other types of training and accessory work into my sessions to utilize the different styles of training which are here. Training hard and with intensity is another important variable to me as it important to feel like you’re getting a workout in and nothing worthwhile comes easy. Educating others is also important too and staying fit and healthy is important throughout life so people need to learn effective ways to do this!
Now a large part of my own training, I believe strength training is one of the best forms of exercise. Although, I like to incorporate other types of training and accessory work into my sessions as well to utilize the different styles of training. High-intensity training is also important to me because I like to feel that I got a good workout in, and nothing worthwhile comes easy. Lastly, educating others about health and wellness is a passion of mine. Teaching people how to maintain their own health is important throughout life, so everyone should learn effective ways to do this!
