“The price of success is hard work. Dedication to the job at hand, and the determination we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.”

As a child, I was shy and quiet. I loved sports and that’s when my timid character would disappear. Baseball, football, soccer and basketball were my sports. Playing and competing with others was my outlet to make friends, to express myself and have fun. I remained that way through most of highschool where I played baseball and football. I took an “Advanced Weights” class with Olympic and Power weight lifting and fell in love with it. Also, weight training for football was in the mix. I knew I had found my passion. The enthusiasm, culture and respect that was endured during those days in the weight room and on the field gave me the extra kick to exercise and maintain my well being. However, I was only doing this for myself. I wanted to take the extra step to heal and enlighten others. I decided to join the Athletic Medicine program. The experience of being a healer and an athlete urged me to make it into a career. But, as much as I loved treating injuries, I was absorbed in the strength and conditioning environment. I majored in Exercise Science at Western Washington University and ever since, it has been my goal to make youths and adults to be the best version of themselves.
Everyone is different with different goals and everyone should know what they are capable of doing beyond what they could imagine. What I learned about fitness is that small steps need to be taken to reach your goal. The small steps you take will get you stronger throughout your journey. During my time coaching at a CrossFit gym, I was surrounded by individuals who encouraged one another and who were there for the same reason: to get better at life. We need to be surrounded by people who care for one another, who are humble and acknowledge that each step is a victory. I base my life around exercising. It keeps me healthy, happy and opens opportunities to help others. Exercise for me is a never ending learning experience. Attack each step and learn from them no matter how small. Celebrate your victories and be hungry for more.
