My Story

My involvement in sports allowed me to find my voice and gain confidence in myself. I was shy as a child, and picked up ice hockey by the age of 6. Growing up in San Diego, those of us that played ice hockey were few and far between, but I am grateful to have found it. During that time, I was able to improve my interpersonal skills and to this day, some of my best and strongest friendships were built with those teammates. Being in the team sports setting over the following ten years helped me gain the confidence to speak my mind and and share my opinions. During my rugby years in college, as I evolved into not only playing the sport but helping others learn it as well, I realized the benefits of a supportive team environment - support given and support received is the key to personal development and empowerment.  I carry those values to my team environment at Perform for Life and extend it to our community that I am proud to help.

My Philosophy

As a trainer and coach, I always try and foster meaningful and genuine relationships with my P4L athletes. It’s important to me that they feel comfortable to be themselves around me. During my time playing sports throughout my childhood and into college, I always found the best catalyst for personal change was a supportive environment, so I aim to empower my clients through support so that they can, in turn, empower themselves. This empowerment is not just in the gym - I encourage my P4L athletes to consider every aspect of their lives, from nutrition and hydration to sleep and mental well-being. An all-encompassing approach, in my opinion, is the key to success.
