As a movement specialist at Perform for Life, I've prided myself in being just that - an expert of movement. By nature, I'm a perfectionist, so naturally I found myself consistently checking my clients' form. It made me realize how much I valued quality over quantity, especially because you yield better results by doing something the right way instead of doing it the wrong way. It's important that everyone moves with good form, but it's even more essential that those with injuries and pain move with good form to avoid risk of damage and reinjury to the body. As you might guess, these were the people that I gravitated towards training and coaching. Before I knew it, corrective exercise became my niche, and I was obsessed. I took continuing education courses to further my speciality in corrective exercise and even went to massage school to get my soft tissue license so that I could do manual work to achieve better, faster results. I am still learning and growing as a practitioner, while creating my own integrative approach to heal and refine movement, combining techniques and ideas from clinical bodywork and functional and corrective exercise. I love what I do, and I have a passion for learning how the body works. Knowing that my knowledge and expertise is helping others minimize their pain and suffering has made me realize how fortunate I am to be in that my passion allows me to help people perform better for life. The goal is for bodywork to be recognized as a form of alternative medicine so that it can reach and heal more people and attain the respect and value it deserves.
