I grew up in Minnesota just outside the Twin Cities with a mom who happened to be a dietitian herself. Our household embodied the concept of moderation - ice cream in the freezer and whole grains and vegetables on the dinner table. I was raised to believe all foods can fit in a balanced diet and that cooking can be fun when we learn to experiment in the kitchen. To this day, these two beliefs are the foundation of my own wellness philosophy.

When I went to college at the University of Minnesota, I was interested in learning more about the role nutrition played in preventing disease. I was fascinated by how our food system, family traditions, and inherent beliefs about wellness influenced our behaviors. Counseling students in college offered me the opportunity to explore the real challenges that everyday people face when it comes to eating foods that nourish their bodies and support movement. My fascination with behavior change and desire to learn more about the social influences that drive our behaviors led me to pursue a Master of Public Health at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!)  During my time in graduate school I had the opportunity to learn more about health promotion, chronic disease prevention and policies that influence wellness.

I'm excited to start my career in San Francisco with such a phenomenal company! Working one-on-one with clients is what I do best; I am driven to help others discover their passion for wellness, make informed decisions about their health and work towards the best version of themselves.

When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, I truly believe it doesn’t have to be hard! Small steps each day are key to creating those life-long habits! With a holistic and weight inclusive approach to wellness, I focus my efforts on what you put in your body, how you move and how you feel in both your professional and personal life, as these all play important roles in wellbeing.

You will find that my focus is never solely on weight loss or the number on the scale, but rather on the habits that we practice day to day, as these are what support us in becoming the best version of ourselves.
