IS THIS CLASS FOR ME?

  • At least 1 year of strength training experience highly recommended.

  • If you're not sure if it's the right fit for you, our 50-minute Strength Assessment is recommended to see where your baseline is and how your body moves doing the big 8 exercises: a squat, front squat, deadlift, overhead press, incline press, bench press, dip, and chin-up.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

  • We’re a community-oriented fitness studio with a maximum of 4 people and a chance to meet some new people and make some friends.

  • Our classes have a structured program that focuses on building strength and proper demonstration on exercise technique for basic compound lifts such as bench, squat variations, deadlift variations, pull-ups, chin-ups, and more.

AM I GOING TO GET BULKY?

  • Genetics can factor in this and volume and specific reps and sets will create that type of build.

  • Semi-private training is more focused on improving your overall strength and muscle retention which research has shown this to improve your BMR (basal metabolic rate).

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

  • You are welcome to come in 5-10 minutes early.  We have a small waiting area at the front.

SHOULD I WARM UP AHEAD OF TIME?

  • Our coaches include a warm-up in our programming.  However, feel free to grab a foam roller to roll out before class.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

  • Dress comfortably in activewear and sneakers.

CAN I JUST SHOW UP FOR A CLASS?

  • Although we love surprises, we kindly ask that you reserve your spot online via the Mindbody Online or the Mindbody app as space is limited to 4 people maximum.

THE CLASS IS FULL, WHAT DO I DO?

  • You can sign up for the waitlist and if a space opens up you’ll receive an e-mail notification from Mindbody.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE AN INJURY?

  • E-mail our Hayes Valley P4L assistant Manager, Brandon Woo, at Brandon@performforlifesf.com to see if you’re cleared to continue to take classes and find out why modifications we’ll need to make for you in class. Allow up to 24 hours for responses.

WHAT’S THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

  • Any semi-private training classes cancelled inside of 3 hours of the class time will automatically be charged.

DO MY CLASSES ROLL OVER?

  • Semi-private training sessions do not roll over month-to-month.

CAN I SHARE MY CLASS PACKAGE?

  • Sharing is caring, except with your training sessions- it’s yours to keep!

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?

  • Although we do not have guest passes for semi-private training, we do have a drop-in and 10 day trials purchase options.
