A running gait analysis can be a useful tool in understanding running injuries and/or improving performance. We use video motion capture and metabolic energy assessment to assist you in determining if you are running in the right shoes, identify changes to your form for reducing injury, and improving performance and metabolic efficiency.

RESTING METABOLIC RATE

A Resting Metabolic Rate test to analyze whether or not you have an increased or decreased metabolism. In addition, the test tells us if your body primarily uses fats or carbohydrates for energy. The results of this test can be used to determine the amount of calories you need to eat each day in order to maintain or lose weight.

VO2 MAX TESTING

This is considered the gold standard in measuring cardiorespiratory fitness. This test will measure your body’s ability to consume, distribute, and utilize oxygen. Additionally, this test will offer insight into what substrate (carbs or fats) your body uses during varying intensities. When paired with a running gait analysis, your metabolic efficiency can be calculated and, as a result, provide insight on how fit you are.
