MY STORY

My inspiration to stay healthy and exercise stems from an early childhood commitment to athletics -- I have been around sports since before I can remember. As a young child, I played soccer, basketball, football, lacrosse, and ran track. I was fortunate to continue my athletic career in college, as a slot receiver for the Humboldt State University Lumberjacks Football team. As a collegiate athlete, I fell in love with the training and conditioning aspect of sport performance. This passion directed me towards a lifelong dedication to the understanding of human performance and health. Following my athletic career, I became a graduate student at Humboldt State, studying kinesiology, while managing the Human Performance Laboratory and teaching kinesiology classes. Along with being a full-time student, I was a Strength and Conditioning coach for 13 NCAA DII teams. I also have experience training elite athletes, including several NFL players.

My philosophy

My fitness philosophy is centered around progress. I genuinely believe that each and every day, one must strive to become better in many facets of their life. The greatest lesson I have learned about fitness is that grit is one of the most important aspects of success in one’s life. Training is a critical component in providing health, purpose, confidence, and determination to an athlete.

  • USAW Sport Performance Coach Level 1
