Tap dance, ballet and gymnastics before playing soccer, snowboarding, basketball, volleyball, baseball and golf before basketball and soccer in high school and soccer in college. These have all taught me a love of movement! Now a days I mainly play soccer, golf, tennis, rock climb, hike, surf and snowboard. I have experienced that with sports there are moments that teach lessons that are not always easy to understand. I have strained my quadricep, rolled my ankle, broke my finger and had a stress fracture in my foot. All of which slowed me down and I did not want to or understand to take time to recover. As a coach I have had to slow down and take detailed notes in educational opportunities to be able to help others where they are and to where they want to be. I have learned to program training with rest days, recovery periods, nutrition, water, sleep and relaxation. It has been good to gain this understanding and remember to tackle goals with respect to time! In my learning experiences I have moved between Wisconsin, England, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York between jobs and internships in soccer, coaching, personal training, sport performance, strength and conditioning, performance nutrition and exercise physiology. I am interested in public health and how this effects development and try to stay involved through volunteering. It has been an adventure and I look forward to continuing to learn and share.

Health and fitness is an ongoing pursuit. A perfect system may be attainable but there are changes that occur in ones life inside and outside the gym that keep fitness dynamic. I think it is just as important for a client to learn as for a coach so they can have the ideas, questions and support in these moments. I think this is where a healthy lifestyle is enjoyable and comes together as you attain different levels of health or fitness, goals, understanding and progress. For me this is where I find a lot of interest as a coach and athlete.
